Music Bussiness+ Ethics ='s Vinegar and Water

I dont even no how to start this I am so pissed.. I try to do a very good job of leaving things and people that I write about anonymous in this case however I can't. So lets go back to a few weeks ago when I get a phone call on a Wed afternoon from The House Of Blue Lights (in Marble Falls Tx) concerning a show that I had booked for one of my artists that coming Sat.. The Phone call bacically was to tell me they didnt have the money to pay the artist so they wanted to cancel the show....!!! What? I resond with "well the show is in 3 days" They tell me sorry they cant do it. Well as you can imagine I am not real happy but thats the world i live in.. So lets fast forward to today. I get a email from the artist that was supposed to play this date. The email informs that some of his fans went out to THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHTS to see his show. They get there and ask the venue people when said artist goes on and the venue tells them "well he wanted to much money. So we got this band to play for less..) Really??? I mean come on. Just tell the damn truth! In my opinion that is crap! Don't agree on something and then decide 3 days out oh lets save some money and get this other band.. To me thats just bad bussiness. Granted me using this venues name is pretty crappy I just dont want this to happen to anyone else. I am not trying to jusify my actions in by any means but something had to be said! As of today I cancelled eveything i had booked there and told them there would be no need to contact me about any of the artist's I represent. I wish the venue the best of luck and hope they treat others better than they did myself and my artist.. Music Janitor is out!
